This letter is a request for you to take part in a research project to assess
perceptions of professional roles and practices of school psychologists. This project is being conducted by Charlotte R. Eschenbrenner, M.A. in the Department of Educational Studies at The Ohio State University for a Doctoral Degree in school psychology. Charlotte is under the supervision of Dr. Antoinette Miranda, an associate professor in the school psychology program at OSU. Your participation in this project is greatly appreciated and will take approximately 15 minutes to fill out the following questionnaire. Your involvement in this project will be kept as confidential as legally possible. No identifiable information will be collected, and all data will be reported in the aggregate. We will work to make sure that no one sees your online responses. But, because we are using the Internet, there is a chance that someone could access your online responses without permission. In some cases, this information could be used to identify you. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Your participation is completely voluntary. You may skip any question that you do not wish to answer and you may discontinue at any time without penalty or loss of benefits. The Ohio State University's Institutional Review Board acknowledgement of this project is on file.
I hope that you will participate in this research project, as it could be beneficial to the understanding of perceptions of professional roles and practices of school psychologists. Should you have any questions about this letter or the research project, please feel free to contact Charlotte Eschenbrenner at 614-537-5964 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dr. Antoinette Miranda at 614-292-5909 (email@example.com).
For each person who completes the questionnaire, the researcher will donate $1 to the NASP Children's Fund. Fifteen minutes of your time will not only contribute to the field of school psychology, but also help provide grants for school psychologists, contribute toward disaster relief efforts, provide basic needs for students, and provide mental health resources for school psychologists.
For questions about your rights as a participant in this study or to discuss other study-related concerns or complaints with someone who is not part of the research team, you may contact Ms. Sandra Meadows in the Office of Responsible Research Practices at 1-800-678-6251.
