MASP received this request to recruit school psychologists to volunteer for a brief online survey for a doctoral dissertation research study.
We are currently recruiting school psychologists to volunteer for a research study of the diagnostic tendencies of school psychologists. This study will be conducted by Adam McGuire, M.S. from the Department of Psychology at St. John’s University as part of his doctoral dissertation. His faculty sponsor is Mark D. Terjesen, Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology.
Participants who volunteer will be presented with one (1) case vignette and will be asked to complete two short online questionnaires about diagnostic impressions as well as demographics. Results will be completely confidential and participants will not be required to provide any identifying information such as name or birthdate. Completion of the online questionnaires will take roughly 10 minutes. Participation is voluntary and participants may withdraw or terminate participation at any time without penalty. There are no known risks associated with participation in this research. Confidentiality of research records will be strictly maintained. Participants may opt in to a raffle for one of three (3) Amazon.com gift cards for their participation. There will be a link to a separate raffle survey at the end of the questionnaire survey so that participant contact information and the questionnaire data are never in the same file.
